Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad

The narrow-gauge heritage railroad that operates on the beautiful western slope of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains.

Established in 1881, steam-powered, coal-fired locomotives pull vintage narrow gauge trains through the San Juan National Forest deep in the Rocky Mountains of southwest Colorado. The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum features a large collection of railroad memorabilia in addition to full-size locomotives, historic coaches and much more.

Relive a piece of Colorado history while on board the Durango and Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, witnessing picturesque scenery year-round and glimpses of the iconic Colorado wildlife from the seats of an authentic coal-fired locomotive.
